Its a new day

This path through sobriety is never ever just about giving something up, or just not drinking, and it's not a punishment, a consequence, a failure, or an acceptance of a smaller life with a paler set of colours. This path is one thing and one thing only: an acceptance of the invitation that has been there all along: To become who we were meant to be.

I choose life

I live in the most beautiful place and have been taking a huge dose of Ecotherapy over the past few weeks. This picis my landscape in my backyard! Everyday I walk in nature for at least an hour, mainly babbling to my friend but also paying attention to all the wonders that surround us.
I have finally taken the plunge, (yet again) back into sobriety.

You people who say I am going to take a break from an alcohol, stop and just do it with out slip ups...I applaud you. Me on the other hand have had innumerable hits at this sobriety thing only to fail within a few days on most occasions. This past year has been shocking, wine every night! However I think this time it is different, truly. For the first time in the last year I am now celebrating 3 days alcohol free. Man is that HUGE for me???

I am equipped with a large body (alcohol made me fat, well I made me fat but wine helped) that needs to shrink, a fear of getting Breast cancer (have you seen the stats?) and an imaginary black eye where I have punched myself so many times for my failures.
I am over the torment, really I am and this time its going to be different.

I am now choosing LIFE!!

Go me!

OXFAM - 60K in June

To celebrate my path to wellness I am currently training to complete a 60k Hardcore bushwalk in my backyard with 4 of my wonderful buddies.  We are calling ourselves the Bush Babblin Babes.  We have chose white chickens for many reasons.
1. Janettes favourite poem includes white chickens...
2. We are 4 white chicks

3. A chicken once quotes this (apparently)...
Continuous effort is the key to unlocking your potential! It takes desire and passion to continue to move forward to your goals.
-Chicken

4. Chicken symbolise feminity, motherhood, noursihment and socialising or at least that is what we think and the whiteness symbolises the idea that we can be whatever we want to be.
